SUDDENLY MINE, 2018
Self published book combining photographs by Margaux Mitchell and Layal Nakle and drawing by Louise Allain.
I believe that perception is an accumulation of knowledge and memory.

In this project, I investigate and work directly with different perceptions and memories than mine. I started a drawing/photography book project, in collaboration with two photographers: Margaux Allain, a French photographer based in Australia, and Layal Nakle a Lebanese/Belgian conceptual artist and photographer based in Spain.
The concept is to elaborate a drawing on a photograph, through an adaptation of new lines and shapes to the already existing structures. I am invading their memory through my own perception. I am physically modifying and interacting with a nonexistent space, a space that I do not know, a space that someone else decided to memorize. While drawing on the photograph, I am interacting with a specific space, a specific choice of frame, a specific choice of subject… I am interacting with the photographer’s perception itself.
